About

Ramadan Countdown 2027 is an independent site that helps Muslims prepare for Ramadan 1448. It provides a live countdown, expected dates for 30 countries and Sehri and Iftar timetables for 132 cities.

How dates are worked out

Expected dates come from the Umm al-Qura calendar and from the visibility of the new crescent on the evening of 29 Sha’ban, calculated for each region. Where a country usually waits for a local sighting, both possible dates are shown. The official start is always announced by each country’s moon sighting authority.

How times are calculated

Sehri ends at the start of Fajr and Iftar is at sunset. Times are calculated from each city’s coordinates using the method most common in that country, such as the Moonsighting Committee for the UK, ISNA for North America, Karachi for South Asia and Umm al-Qura for Saudi Arabia. Fajr is rounded down and Maghrib is rounded up to the nearest minute, so the times err on the side of caution.

Mosques often publish their own timetables, which may differ by a few minutes. When they differ, follow your local mosque.
